Diverse nature of conventional and asymmetric threats has the ability to harm sophisticated naval forces and infrastructure. With the introduction of unmanned vehicles to the armed forces, these systems rapidly contributed to perform tasks particularly in high-risk missions. As the effectiveness of Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAV) increases dramatically, the enhancing capabilities of Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV) also draw a new future for naval missions.<\/p>

Taking the vast coverage of naval missions into consideration, USVs have greater potential to contribute to naval missions and functions. Like the naval vessels, USVs are generic platforms, and they may be equipped with different sets of sensors, weapons and communication means to suit different tasks. The sophisticated and compelling environment of naval domain together with the complexity of naval operations yet limits autonomy for unmanned surface systems. This leads to the necessity of uninterrupted connection between control platform and USV.<\/p>

The concepts of USV employment may vary with the size and capabilities of the platforms, however, a robust network remains essential to fulfil assigned missions and functions. The network to operate USVs have to provide both extended ranges and high band-width information exchange. To cope with the amount and variety of information to be exchanged, the networking system needs to offer simultaneous facilitation and government of all available channels such as UHF and HF radios, satellite, wideband communication systems and beyond.<\/p>

ITMS is an integrated platform to primarily provide the communication and computing power backbone for the operational and strategic (mobile or static) units in the field. ITMS has the ability to consolidate all voice\/video switching, Analog\/IP radio integration, LAN\/WAN data communications, hybrid network tactical routing and computing power for C4I applications.<\/p>

\u201cIntegrated Tactical Mission System\u201d (ITMS) sits at the core of OYT\u2019s Network Based Communication System.
