The latest subcontract agreement signed between PAS and ONUR is just another example to the fruitful joint-efforts by the two parties. ONUR will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, acceptance and on-site user trainings for the Communication, Navigation and Meteorological systems supplied by PAS as a turn-key Air Traffic Control Operations solution for Erbil International Airport, Iraq.
Communication sub-system will consist of: a GAREX 220 Voice Communication Control System (VCCS) for the tower, VHF ground-to-air and FM ground-to-ground communication systems, digital voice recording systems in accordance with ICAO standards.
Within the scope of the project, there are 2 NORMARC 7000 Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) with co-located Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) that operate within CAT III limits. In addition, a meteorological monitoring system, Aeronautical Fixed Terminal Network (AFTN) and Airport Information System (AIS) database, Crash Alarm System and Airport Terminal Information System (ATIS) will be installed.
